Xiamen Airlines Chairman Zhao Dong recently held a meeting with Qatar Airways Group CEO Akbar Al Baker

One month before the start of Xiamen Airlines' Beijing Daxing/Xiamen to Doha service, Chairman Zhao Dong of the airline met with Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways Group, on 20 September.

In 2023, China and Qatar will celebrate the 35th anniversary of their diplomatic ties, as well as the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road initiative, according to Zhao Dong.

Xiamen Airlines and Qatar Airways currently collaborate extensively through codesharing.

The two parties intend to strengthen their relationship in the future and provide passengers with more participatory and potentially "direct selling" experiences to make flying more enjoyable.

For travellers from China and the Arab world, Xiamen Airlines and Qatar Airways aspire to deliver a distinctive and pleasurable flying experience!

Zhao invited Akbar Al Baker to visit China, which he enthusiastically accepted. He also emphasised their extensive strategic alliance, which includes the significant achievement of their first-ever codeshare agreement in China.

He thought that Xiamen Airlines' routes would easily integrate with Qatar Airways' extensive worldwide network, giving travellers a wider range of flying options and smoother journeys.

In honour of this historic partnership, Xiamen Airlines has planned to start operating regular flights between Xiamen and Doha as of October 2023.
