Nigeria Airlines plans 12 new aircraft route expansion



United Nigeria Airline (UNA) has announced plans to expand its fleet and reach more cities in Nigeria and the African continent. 


The airline, which began operations in February 2021 with a fleet of four Embraer 145 aircraft, announced that it will receive two Embraer 190 aircraft by the 4th quarter of 2023, as well as 10 new Embraer 175 aircraft in 24 months' time.


UNA's Chief Operating Officer (COO), Mr. Mazi Ogunkwo, has declared that the airline will continue its efforts to remain a leader in the aviation sector and continue to provide better service to Nigerians. He stated that the acquisition of additional aircraft is in line with the airline's business growth and development strategy.


The COO added that the airline plans to acquire Embraer -190 aircraft, which are expected to be delivered to Nigeria by the 4th quarter of 2023. 


He further stated that the airline expects to receive another set of Embraer -10 aircraft, which will help to expand its capacity for domestic and regional operations. 


Mr. Ogunkwo added that arrangements are underway for operations to various African countries, including Ghana, Angola and South Africa, as well as to Niger Republic and Cote d'Ivoire.
