Golden Ocean's CEO Ulrik Andersen announces his resignation



Ulrik Andersen has announced his resignation as Chief Executive Officer of Golden Ocean Group, a dry bulk player backed by John Fredriksen. He joined the company in April 2020 and will remain in office until 1 September 2023. Prior to joining Golden Ocean, Mr. Andersen served as CEO at Avance Gas, Petredec (now Petredec Shipping), Neu Gas Shipping (now Neu Gas Shipping) and as head of Maersk’s VLGC pool (now VLGC). 


Lars-Christian Svensen, Golden Ocean’s Chief Commercial Officer, will act as interim CEO until Mr. Andersen steps down. 


Chairman Ola Lorentzon expressed his gratitude for Mr. Andersen’s service to Golden Ocean, noting that he has guided the company through periods of fleet expansion and fleet renewal.

I am proud of the progress we have made during my tenure and believe that Golden Ocean is in a strong position for future growth,” said Mr. Andersen on LinkedIn. “There is always a time for everything and right now is the perfect time for a relaxing summer with my family. We look forward to what the future holds.”
