Astral appoints Euro Cargo Aviation as its General Sales Agent

Astral has officially appointed Euro Cargo Aviation as its General Sales Agent. This strategic partnership will enable Euro Cargo Aviation to represent Astral and promote its services in the market. With their extensive experience and expertise in the industry, Euro Cargo Aviation is well-positioned to effectively manage sales activities and drive business growth for Astral. This collaboration is expected to strengthen Astral's presence and enhance its market reach, ultimately benefiting both companies and their customers.

Astral Aviation has appointed Euro Cargo Aviation as its GSA in Europe, US & UAE, and Take Off Aviation as its GSA in South Africa.

Euro Cargo Aviation Partnership

The partnerships became effective on January 1 and will see Euro Cargo Aviation and Take Off Aviation marketing the cargo airlines' cargo capacity to potential clients, businesses, freight forwarders, and other relevant entities within the designated regions.

Take Off Aviation Partnership

Astral Aviation chief executive Sanjeev Gadhia said: “We look forward to our partnership with Euro Cargo Aviation who will act as an extension of our esteemed company, representing its cargo services, driving sales, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining customer satisfaction for its scheduled and charter network from Europe, USA & UAE, which will be directed towards Astral’s strategic hubs in Dubai and Nairobi while Take Off Aviation will promote Astral in South Africa.”

Astral Aviation Overview

Kenya-headquartered Astral Aviation has hubs in Nairobi, Dubai, Johannesburg and Liege.

The airline currently operates one Boeing 757F, one Boeing 767F and one McDonnell Douglas DC9F within its intra-African, Middle East, Asian and European network.

In 2022, Astral ordered two Boeing 777Fs, with two additional options in its order.

Future Plans

In the same year, Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to place the first ever two Embraer E190F conversions with Astral.

Astral told Air Cargo News (ACN) last year that it planned to invest in Airbus freighters for the first time. The airline said ST Engineering Aerospace Resources would lease two A320P2Fs, two A321P2Fs and two A330-300P2Fs to Vaayu Aero Leasing, which would subsequently lease the aircraft to Astral, which would then sub-leased the conversions to Pradhaan Air Express, based in New Delhi, India.

Summary

The partnerships with Euro Cargo Aviation and Take Off Aviation, alongside the fleet expansion initiatives and strategic collaborations, position Astral Aviation for continued growth and enhanced service delivery across key global markets. As the airline continues to strengthen its presence and capabilities, these developments underscore its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of the air cargo industry.
