A 21-year-old VLCC was purchased for $35m.

The Adam Polemis-led New Shipping has closed a lucrative VLCC deal, selling the 319,000 dwt Good News, which is 21 years old and which the company acquired from Euronav for $21 million six years ago, for $35 million.

The ship, now known as Eternal Fortune, has already been handed to Hong Kong-based Unitop Group, its new owners.

After purchasing a cape from GoodBulk earlier this year, this is New Shipping's second transaction of the year.

Five VLCCs, with an average age of 17 years, are now available in Polemis' tanker division. Since 2020, the company has sold five VLCCs.
