In the SoEs Category of the Internal Audit Agency's (IAA) Annual Awards to Institutions, Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has been named "Winner" of "Best ERM Compliant Institution."
On Friday, September 15, 2023, at the University of Professional Studies in Accra, the 2023 Internal Audit Conference took place.
Enterprise risk management is the act of recognising, analysing, managing, and keeping track of both current and emerging hazards throughout the whole organisation. It offers a mechanism for incorporating risk into the allocation of resources and strategic planning procedures.
In compliance with ISO 31000:2018, GACL has maintained an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) system that is efficient, dependable, and transparent.
The Managing Director of GACL, Ms. Pamela Djamson-Tettey, commented on the favourable development, saying: "We feel it to be a wonderful honour to obtain this distinction from the Internal Audit Agency" (IAA). This recognition confirms that GACL's internal processes, which are successfully managing the organization's existing and emerging risks, are doing their jobs.
For a sector that depends on safety, she said, GACL prioritises risk management and regularly updates its risk register to take into account emerging trends. The team will definitely be motivated by this award to make sure that enterprise risk management is integrated into every aspect of the business.
