According to the Ghana Highway Authority, a damaged dam on the side of the road was what caused a huge washout that happened at Doli in the Bole District, 25 kilometres from Sawla on the N12, in the Savannah Region.
The Sawla-Fufulso Road connects the N10, and the Ghana Highway Authority advises drivers coming from Wa and its vicinity driving to the South to turn off at Sawla (Techiman -Kintampo Road).
When travelling to Wa from the south, drivers should use the Techiman-Kintampo Road, exit at the Fufulso intersection, and then take the Fufulso-Sawla Road to Sawla, then to Wa and beyond. The new Longoro to Kintampo Road on the N10 is for use by motorists travelling from Wenchi to Wa. In a statement released by the Public Affairs Division, it was stated, "We can promise you that our engineers and technical team are working aggressively to address the situation as soon as is practical.
The statement said, "We much appreciate your patience as we work to ensure your safety and the return of regular traffic flow.
