From October 29, Ethiopian Airlines will offer two daily flights to Kotoka International Airport in Accra.
The airline will now be providing 14 scheduled passenger flights per week to the Ghanaian market as a whole.
The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority and the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) authorised the Addis Abeba-based airline's schedule, which indicates that the Accra market will be served by a combination of Boeing 737, 767, 787, 777, and Airbus 359 aircraft (A350-900).
As the airline adds three (3) additional scheduled flights to its current 11 weekly flights between Addis Ababa and Accra, Ghana, it would become one of the two largest foreign carriers servicing Accra. In essence, the airline will run seven flights in the afternoon and seven in the evening or early the next morning.
The airline's sister company, ASKY Airlines, which connects flights in Accra to numerous locations around the world, will be able to offer passengers more travel alternatives thanks to the increase in flight frequency.
"Thus far, we have observed that our customers are content and making use of these extra connectivity options. The total number of flights we operate each week will now be fourteen, and we will be adding three (3) more flights to that. Beginning on November 21, 2023, our Ghanaian clients will be able to travel twice daily from Accra to our more than 135 international destinations, including Gatwick. The increased frequency, according to Mrs. Aniley Eshetu, Area Manager of Ethiopian Airlines-Ghana, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, "confirms Ethiopian Airlines' commitment to servicing Ghana once more."
