The Singapore Shipping Association (SSA) has chosen Caroline Yang, the CEO of bunker vessel operator Hong Lam Marine, to serve as its president for a third consecutive term.

Yang, who has almost 30 years of expertise in the shipping sector, was elected for the first time in 2019 and is the organization's over 485th president since the group's founding in 1985.

She now serves on the boards of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, the Singapore Maritime Foundation, and is one of the four vice chairs of the International Chamber of Shipping.

Yang will be assisted by two vice presidents and the SSA Secretariat, which is run by Michael Phoon in his capacity as executive director. René Piil Pedersen, managing director of AP Moller Singapore, and Katie Men, managing director of Iseaco Investment, are the two vice presidents suggested by the council.
