Emirates welcomes Air Canada to Dubai International Terminal 3

The relocation of Air Canada's operations to Dubai International's (DXB) flagship Terminal 3 as of July 26th marks a customer service milestone in the two airlines' strategic collaboration, according to an announcement from Air Canada and Emirates. The co-location of operations in one of the best terminals in the world will greatly enhance the connecting experience for passengers and highlights the advantages of the alliance between the two airlines, which was established in November 2022.

Passengers traveling in transit in Dubai between the Americas on Air Canada and the Middle East, Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and Africa on Emirates will appreciate the ease of staying in the same terminal as well as a smooth and accelerated experience.

"We are happy to welcome Air Canada to Emirates Terminal 3 in Dubai, marking another step forward in our strategic collaboration to bring even greater value to travelers," said Adnan Kazim, chief commercial officer of Emirates. Because Air Canada and Emirates are co-located at T3, customers of both airlines can transit through Dubai on Emirates' international network without experiencing any delays, and those who qualify can access Emirates' renowned Business Class Lounges and other hub facilities in Dubai before their flight. We intend to further improve traveler experiences by collaborating with Air Canada and providing even more easy connectivity for travelers.

"Air Canada's new home at Dubai International Terminal 3 is a significant milestone that emphasizes the importance of both our strategic alliance with Emirates and the flights we operate between the UAE and Canada. Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President Network & Revenue Planning at Air Canada, expressed his company's profound gratitude to Emirates and Dubai Airports for their assistance in making this change possible, which would tremendously benefit our shared customers. With our codeshare and frequent flyer partner Emirates, Air Canada customers will not only have smooth onward connections to locations in the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Indian subcontinent, but they will also have an improved experience when traveling through the airport.

Greetings from Terminal 3 to Air Canada "Dubai Airports and Air Canada have a same goal of continually providing great service and exceeding client satisfaction," said Majed Al Joker, Chief Operational Officer of Dubai Airports. "Our cooperation has a long history. This move will enable Air Canada to operate more efficiently, increase the effectiveness of our airport, and enhance the traveling experience. With biometric touchpoints, roomy and comfortable waiting rooms, and a range of dining and shopping options, Terminal 3 is a top-notch facility created to meet the changing needs of contemporary travelers.

On July 26, the first Air Canada flight is expected to land at Terminal 3. On July 27, the first flight is expected to take off from Dubai and travel to Toronto. The First & Business Class Dropoff will have dedicated Air Canada check-in desks and bag drop areas for Signature Class, while the main entry will have counters for Premium Economy and Economy. Customers traveling on Air Canada Signature Class and qualified Aeroplan Elite members (Aeroplan 50K and above) will also have access to the Emirates Business Class lounge at Terminal 3.

Since November 2022, the carriers have improved their underlying interline agreement, increased capacity into their respective hubs, increased cooperation between their cargo businesses, expanded their codeshare relationship to 42 routes, and developed a reciprocal loyalty partnership for customers to earn and redeem points. Moreover, Air Canada and flydubai, Emirates' sibling airline, have formed a relationship.

In addition to its extended daily Airbus A380 schedule between Toronto and Dubai, Emirates started its daily Boeing 777 service between Montreal and Dubai in July. As an addition to its daily service between Toronto and Dubai, Air Canada will launch its new nonstop four times weekly flights between Dubai and Vancouver on October 30, 2023, using its premier Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet.

Members of Aeroplan and Skywards can accrue and use points when flying with Air Canada or Emirates.
