A cargo truck overturned on Thursday, July 20, 2023 near Konongo on the Accra-Kumasi highway, stranding dozens of travelers traveling from Accra to Kumasi and Kumasi to Accra.
The vehicle that overturned blocked the roadway, according to eyewitness accounts provided to thetransporteronline24, and no vehicles could proceed beyond that point.
A towing vehicle and officers from the Ghana Police Service arrived at the scene.
We were traveling from Accra to Kumasi, as one of the irate travelers, Kofi Boateng, explained to thetransporteronline24. Several cars were parked alongside the road. They were all passed by our driver. To our surprise, it turned out to be a large vehicle that had overturned while we even assumed it was an armed robbery attack. Thus, we are currently stranded here.
The truck was afterwards taken away from the accident location.
