Exercise caution; we'll repair the rain-damaged roadways. - Ministry of Road & Highways



Roads and Highways are urging people to be careful as they are working hard to repair roads that have been damaged by the heavy rains. The Ministry said that they are doing a lot of work to widen the nation's road network and carry out routine and regular maintenance on existing roads.


The Ministry responded to the public's worries about potholes that had appeared due to the heavy rains.


According to a statement released by the Ministry on Wednesday June 14, maintenance works are currently being carried out on the following roads:


MRH has been receiving queries from the general public and some media outlets about potholes that have appeared on some roads across the country due to heavy rains.


MRH wishes to clarify that in general, there is a lot of work being done to widen the nation's road network and to carry out routine and regular maintenance on existing roads. During the rainy season, some old roads tend to deteriorate, which are quickly taken care of through the emergency maintenance programme of the Ministry.


The Ministry wants to reassure the general public that important sections of roads that have deteriorated during the rains across the country are being addressed.
