Ford has recently launched a new facility aimed at reducing wait times for customers purchasing the Ranger model. The facility is dedicated to fitting accessories onto the vehicles, streamlining the process and ensuring that customers can receive their customized Rangers in a more timely manner. This initiative reflects Ford's commitment to enhancing customer experience and satisfaction. By addressing the demand for accessories and expediting the customization process, Ford aims to further elevate its position in the market and meet the evolving needs of its clientele.
Ford Australia has announced the opening of a ‘Vehicle Personalisation Centre’ (VPC) in Thailand, with the aim of streamlining local deliveries of the Ranger ute.
According to Ford, the VPC will initially offer four accessories for the Ranger: three different canopy options and a manual roller shutter.
It’s noted that the canopies will only be available for fitment on the regular dual-cab Rangers, with Platinum and Raptor models excluded.
The opening of this VPC is likely to be a strategic move to keep ahead of the Toyota HiLux in local deliveries, as the Ranger managed to beat the Japanese dual-cab for the first time in eight years in 2023.
Set to be operated in partnership with Thailand’s RMA Automotive, the VPC is reportedly located near the port where vehicles depart for Australia.
In a release, Ford Australia notes that this is due to convenience, so “accessory fitment can typically occur within just two days of a vehicle completing its build.”
VPC-fitted accessories will also carry Ford Australia’s five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty, as they are the same units fitted to utes locally.
“The new VPC is the next step at giving our customers the customised vehicles they want, straight out of the box,” said Michael Karageorgiou, Vehicle Personalisation Director, Ford International Markets Group.
“Customers can now order select accessories through a Ford dealer knowing that their vehicle will arrive in Australia with the accessories fitted and ready to go,” Karageorgiou added.
It’s also noted that customers can start ordering VPC-fitted accessories for the Ranger from this month.
These MY24.5 Ranger models will reportedly go into production in March 2024, and are scheduled to arrive in Australia by May.
The establishment of the Vehicle Personalisation Centre in Thailand represents a significant stride for Ford Australia as it continues to elevate its customer-centric approach and strengthen its position in the highly competitive dual-cab ute segment. With enhanced customisation options and streamlined delivery processes, Ford is poised to set new benchmarks for customer satisfaction and product excellence in the Australian automotive market.
