Alstom has recently secured a train maintenance contract in Victoria, Australia. This contract reaffirms Alstom's commitment to providing high-quality maintenance services for the region's rail infrastructure. With a focus on reliability and efficiency, Alstom is dedicated to ensuring the continued smooth operation of Victoria's train network. This achievement further solidifies Alstom's position as a trusted partner in the Australian transportation industry.
Alstom has been awarded a contract to maintain the VLocity and Classic train fleets in Victoria, Australia for the next 10 years.
The contract is valued at approximately 900 million EUR and will see Alstom deliver increased reliability and availability of the rolling stock, alongside significant fuel savings.
Maintenance Scope and Technologies
This work will be supported by predictive maintenance technologies to help reduce fuel costs and carbon emissions from the VLocity and Classic fleets.
Under this contract, Alstom will also establish a new fleet control centre in South Dynon. The trains will be maintained out of West Melbourne, South Dynon and Ballarat East, securing over 300 jobs in Victoria.
In addition, the contract ensures that 69 percent of maintenance materials will be supplied by local Victorian suppliers.
