Alstom to Supply Hydrogen Trains to Puglia and Lombardy, Italy

Alstom has been selected to supply hydrogen trains to the regions of Puglia and Lombardy in Italy. Alstom has announced that it will supply the first hydrogen trains to the region of Puglia, alongside a second order of hydrogen trains in Lombardy, Italy.


Orders Placed

Ferrovie del Sud Est (FSE) has ordered two Coradia Stream H hydrogen trains to replace current diesel units operating in Puglia.


Ferrovie Nord Milano (FNM)

Meanwhile, Ferrovie Nord Milano (FNM), has ordered two Coradia Stream H trains. These will join six hydrogen trains already on order for the region within a 2020 framework agreement for up to 14 hydrogen units.

Train Specifications

The Coradia Stream H trains are based on Alstom’s single-deck Coradia Stream regional train platform. They are manufactured by Alstom in Italy.

When powered by green hydrogen, the vehicles produce no direct CO2 emissions and offer a smoother and quieter ride for passengers compared to diesel models.
