Jiri Marek, the Chief Executive of Air Serbia, emphasized that while the delivery timeline for the ATR72-600s has not been firmly established, it is contingent upon addressing supply chain challenges affecting maintenance, repainting, and overall deliveries. The specific identity of the aircraft is expected to be disclosed by the end of January 2024.
At present, Air Serbia's fleet includes seven ATR72-600s, with one already dry-leased from Nordic Aviation Capital. The airline incorporated the first of this variant into its fleet in 2022. Notably, these ATR - Avions de Transport Régional turboprops play a pivotal role in supporting the airline's regional network, particularly in facilitating connectivity to and from its Belgrade hub.
Nordic Aviation Capital, renowned as the world's largest owner of the ATR72-600 type, boasts a portfolio encompassing ninety of these aircraft. According to the ch-aviation fleets ownership module, prominent customers for this aircraft type include Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras (with ten aircraft) and Air Cairo (with six).
