Vaayu Group invests in an Indian cargo carrier

Vaayu Group, a leading investment firm, has recently announced its investment in an Indian cargo carrier. The move comes as part of the company's strategy to expand its portfolio in the logistics industry. With the increasing demand for cargo transportation in India, the investment is expected to yield significant returns for Vaayu Group.

Background

Vaayu Group, headquartered in the UAE, has recently signed a strategic investment agreement with Indian cargo carrier Pradhaan Air Express. The announcement was made during the Dubai Airshow on November 16, 2021.

Pradhaan Air Express, based in New Delhi, operates the world's first A320P2F aircraft, which was leased from Vaayu last year and has been in commercial service since October 2022. The A320P2F aircraft is an Airbus A320 Passenger-to-Freighter (P2F) aircraft that was converted by ST Engineering and Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW). It is owned by the aviation asset management business of ST Engineering and is the first of several converted freighter aircraft being leased to Ras Al Khaimah-based Vaayu.

Vaayu has plans to expand its footprint in the air cargo space by adding two more A320P2Fs by 2024 to increase its capacity and network. On the other hand, Pradhaan Air Express, which operates domestic and international cargo routes, is planning to add two aircraft every year starting from 2024.

Benefits of Vaayu's investment in Pradhaan Air Express

Nipun Anand, founder and chief executive of Pradhaan Air Express, expressed his contentment with Vaayu's investment, stating that their expertise and plans to increase cargo capacity will be beneficial for their company. He also commended the Airbus range of freighter aircraft, which he believes will add immense value to their plans.

Vaayu's vision and strategic move with Pradhaan Air

Emad AlMonayea, chairman and president of Vaayu Group, stated that their vision is to become a significant player in the air cargo space in the years to come. He believes that their move with Pradhaan is quite strategic considering the opportunities it presents between the two regions. He expressed his optimism that they are flying in the right direction.

Features and capabilities of A320P2F aircraft

The A320P2F aircraft is especially suited to express domestic and regional operations. It can accommodate up to 10 ULD containers and one pallet position in the main deck, as well as seven container positions in the lower deck.

Summary

Vaayu's investment in Pradhaan Air Express is a strategic move that will benefit both companies in their plans to expand their air cargo operations. The introduction of more A320P2Fs will increase their capacity and network, while the Airbus range of freighter aircraft will add immense value to their plans.
