Fleet Expansion & Financial Restructuring
Norwegian offshore vessels player DOF has taken two anchor handlers recently sold by compatriot Havila Shipping under management.
DOF said that it expanded its fleet with the addition of the AHTS Skandi Jupiter and Skandi Mercury, formerly known as the Havila Jupiter and Havila Venus, respectively.
The Fosnavåg-based firm was forced to sell the two 2010-built anchor handlers as part of its financial restructuring. The buyers and the price were not disclosed by either Havila or DOF.
Delivery and Ownership Transfer
The ships, which have been trading in the spot market, were sold at the request of lenders in accordance with the clauses of the restructuring agreement and would be delivered to new owners at the beginning of November.
Management Takeover
DOF added that the vessels will add to the company’s “capabilities within both renewables and oil and gas” in the North Sea. DOF is expected to take over the management of the AHTS duo in the week beginning on November 6, 2023.
