Bawumia meets Solar Taxi, a Ghanaian manufacturer of electric automobiles.

The third largest electric vehicle manufacturer in Africa, Solar Taxi has been assembling electric automobiles in Ghana.

On September 27th, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia visited the startup SolarTaxi.

They put buses, vehicles, and motorcycles together.

"It was a delight to travel in one of their buses, which can go nonstop between Accra and Kumasi without the need for a battery recharge. Additionally, they have the capacity to convert existing internal combustion engine vehicles to electric ones "During his Wednesday visit to the plant, Vice President Bawumia made the statement.

The government is developing a policy framework for employing electric vehicles for public transit in Ghana, according to Dr. Bawumia, who said that electric vehicles are the future.

"Since gasoline and spare parts make up the majority of the cost of transportation, this will significantly lower the cost. Also, it will lessen carbon emissions "said the Vice President.

Through its bankers, Solar Taxi also offers financing for its buses, automobiles, and motorcycles without requiring any type of security.

You only need to provide them with your GhanaCard ID to receive a vehicle that you may pay for over time.

Solar Taxi employees are 26 years old on average, and 90% of their engineers are female.

"I pleaded with Metro Mass, STC, and Ayalolo to seize the chance to purchase additional buses. I'm happy for SolarTaxi. Impressed by you. Sky is the limit. You can do it! "The Vice President continued.
