Bolivia's BoA initiates A330-200 operations

The widebody fleet transition at Boliviana de Aviación (OB, La Paz El Alto) has begun with the company's first internal A330-200 flights.

On June 17–18, CP-3208 (msn 1452) flew a one-off rotation through Santa Cruz Viru Viru to Miami Airport. On June 20, 2023, it will make its debut trip to Buenos Aires Ministro Pistarini. It has been operating daily scheduled flights between Cochabamba and Santa Cruz Viru Viru and Buenos Aires, according to Flightradar24 ADS-B data, since June 25.

The first of two A330s to be delivered to BoA in April and May of 2023, the 9.9-year-old former Virgin Australia aircraft is owned by Park Aerospace Holdings (managed by Avolon). At Santa Cruz Viru Viru, CP-3209 (msn 1561), which is leased from Commonwealth Bank of Australia, is still parked. The airline had planned to add three A330-200s, but given Bolivia's currency crisis, it's unclear when the third one will be introduced.

According to thetransporteronline24 fleets advanced module, BoA will only continue to operate two of the four B767-300ERs, with the other two being stored. Moreover, Omni Air International is leasing a B767-200(ER) to the airline (OY, Tulsa International).
