SpiceJet is being sued for bankruptcy due to unpaid leases.



SpiceJet (SG, Delhi Worldwide) faces further lawful activity over airplane leases after lessor Aircastle documented a bankruptcy appeal against it. The matter is recorded for notice before the Delhi seat of the Public Organization Regulation Council (NCLT) on May 8, 2023. The appeal allegedly concerns neglected leases for four B737-800s.


NCLT records uncover attorneys for Aircastle held up the request on April 28. The matter is recorded as Aircastle (Ireland) Restricted versus SpiceJet Restricted (case no: C.P. (IB) - 266/2023). On May 4, Aircastle's legal counselors effectively moved the application under s.9 of the Indebtedness and Insolvency Code (IBC) 2016, which gives the debt holder ten days from conveyance of the notification or receipt to make installment or hotel a question under s.8(2) of the code. A SpiceJet representative told ch-flight that all Aircastle airplane have left the armada. "This turn of events, in no way influences our activities or working armada.
